Hanchey Announces Chick-fil-A Bowl

Tim Hanchey, Stadium Announcer for the Atlanta Falcons and NASPAA member, was the P.A. announcer for the 41st Annual Chick-fil-A-Bowl that was held last month at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.  This was Hanchey's third consecutive year announcing the Chick-fil-A-Bowl.

The Chick-fil-A Bowl is the ninth-oldest bowl game in the history of college football and the oldest ACC vs. SEC match-up in the bowl business.  Over the last 10 years, the Chick-fil-A Bowl ranks first in average attendance among all non-BCS bowl games, averaging 71,986 fans per game.

"In August, I was privileged to work the inaugural Kick Off Classic between Alabama and Clemson" commented Hanchey.  "That game is produced by the same group that produces the Chick-fil-A-Bowl.  All in all, it was a good year.  Nothing could beat finishing off season with the Chick-fil-A Bowl...unless the Falcons would have made the playoffs!"

Hanchey finished his third season as the play-by-play voice of the Atlanta Falcons.  He began with the Falcons as the back up announcer in 2005, moving in front of the microphone the next year. He also serves as the P.A. announcer for the Georgia Force of the Arena Football League, having started with them in 2004.  In his role with the Force, he has participated in several playoff games, including division and conference championships.  Hanchey was the clinician for the 2008 NASPAA Football P.A. Clinic that was held last August at Westminster High School in Atlanta.
